Shortstop Michael Young Making The Switch To 3rd Base

Texas Rangers Shortstop Michael Young will be making the switch to 3rd Base MLB.com reports. Great news for Texas Rangers fans seeing as how it was only a couple days ago he refused the move and requested to be traded. The position change makes room for Shortstop Elvis Andrus who is one of the Rangers top prospects inside their organization. The Rangers received Andrus as a part of that seven player deal on July 31st, 2007 that saw Mark Teixeira and Ron Mahay go to Atlanta for Andrus, Saltalamacchia, and three others. Rangers fans will be delighted to see hes listed on MLB.com’s Top 50 prospect list for the 2009 season. I don’t know how great he will be, but with a name like Elvis you surely can’t go wrong.

More good news? I don’t know if this qualifies as good news but it looks like the Texas Rangers may be close to signing Pitcher Freddy Garcia.
